World Best Selling Motorcycles brands ranking in 2024 is dominated by Honda. In the Top 10 there are 3 Japanese manufacturers, 3 Indian and 4 Chinese. Yadea is by far the top EVs specialized OEM.
For the first time we decided to share the ranking of the Top 10 Brands in the World. Please be aware data includes only 2/3 wheeler in the scooter, underbone, moped and motorcycles category. This mean that Tuk Tuk are not included and ATV/RUV or kick scooter neither.
During the first nine months 2024, the global motorcycles industry (including moped, scooter, motorcycles, underbone) scored a robust +5.7% with over 49.4 million sales and projecting the new all time record.
Looking at the combined sales data in the 92 country for which we collect new 2-wheeler registrations, the Top 10 brands ranking reports few changes from the previous year with 2 chinese makers as protagonist, one in a bad destiny and one in a good.
However, starting from the top, the leader, as in the last 50 years is Honda., with a market share which is near 30%, an absolute dominion on the industry. This year Honda is growing 7.9% at 14.9 million, with Bosnia (+127.9%), Ukraine (+126.1%) and Turkey (+98.3%) as the fastest growing markets
The second place there is the Indian Hero Motor confirming the ranking with 4.5 million sales in the first nine months (+8.0%). The podium of the fastest markets for Hero includes Costa Rica (+127.3%), South Africa (+46.5%) and Kenya (+26.1%).
Yamaha stands in third place with 3.6 million (+6.5%). skyrocketing in Mongolia (+4250%), Iceland (+225%) and Albania (+100%).
Yadea, the EVs specialist, is in fourth place with 3.1 million (-1.9%) sales, with the fastest growing market represented by Malaysia, Macedonia and Moldova.
TVS Motor, is the 5th with 2.8 million sales (+15.3%) and the top growing countries are Ukraine (+733%), Turkey (+91.3%) and Nicaragua (+68.3%).
Bajaj Auto is in sixth place with 2.25 million sales (+12%) thanks to the strong domestic performance, with Brazil (+117.4%), Thailand (+56.4%) and Latvia (+50%) as the fastest growing markets.
Haojue ranks in seventh place with 1.46 million sales (-5.1%) fast growing in Colombia (+500%), Kenya (+427%) and Paraguay (+54.2%).
Suzuki stands in eight place with 1.3 million sales (+7.1%), with Ukraine (+3700%), Albania (+1100%) and Bosnia (+300%) as the fastest growing markets.
Loncin ranks 9th (not including Voge) with 964.572 sales in the first nine months, fast growing in Israel (+2900%), Czech Republic (+362%) and Panama (+90.8%).
Zongshen closes the top 10 with 955.176 sales (+1.3%) with Albania (+333%), Mongolia (+170%) and France (+105%) as the fastest growing markets.
