The Spanish motorcycle market keeps growing this year. During the 2024 the market is performing better than expected, with sales after the first ten months at 196.461 (+5.2%). Honda is leader ahead of Yamaha and Kymco.

Economic activity in Spain is expected to grow at 2.1% in 2024 and 1.9% in 2025 driven by domestic demand and sustained by continued labour market resilience. The implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) is set to underpin investment growth over the forecast horizon. Headline inflation is projected to maintain its downward trend as underlying price pressures moderate.

The general government deficit is set to keep decreasing, spurred by the favourable revenue developments and the phase-out of energy-related measures. The debt-to-GDP ratio is set to gradually decline further in 2025 to 104.8%, from 105.5% in 2024.

Spain remains the fifth largest motorcycle market in Europe, following Turkey, Italy, France, and Germany. In 2023, driven by robust consumer demand, motorcycle sales surged by 12.2%, reaching 217.479 units—the highest level in the past 15 years and marking the third consecutive year of growth.

During the 2024 the market is performing better than expected, with sales after the first ten months at 196.461 (+5.2%)

The growth is driven by the motorcycles segment (+13.4%) particularly strong in the 751–1000 cc class (+14.4%). On the other hand, the scooter segment saw a modest decline (-0.9%) and, against all expectations, the electric segment abruptly slowed, marking a -46.2% downturn; the electric L3 category experienced a significant loss (-59.6%), while the electric L1 segment saw a gain (+16.1%).

Yamaha, in second place, experienced a remarkable 31.5% growth, largely driven by the NMAX series, which saw a 140.6% increase, and the MT-07, which grew by 134.2%.

Kymco, in third place, reported a 6.7% lost, outperforming Piaggio (-13.7%), BMW (-3.3%) and SYM (-7.3%).
