French Motorcycles Market is declining. The market reported a 2.2% lost in the first ten months 2024, with sales at 237.778, following the previous two years decline. Honda is the leader, ahead of Yamaha and BMW.

 

French Motorcycles Industry Trend and Perspectives

While the whole European 2-wheeler market is running with a moderate sales increase (like Italy, the biggest one), the French motorcycle market keeps struggling and is losing terrain for the second year in a row.

The market reported a 2.2% lost in the first ten months 2024, with sales at 237.778, following the previous two years decline.

Both scooter (-1.9%) and motorcycle (-2.3%) segments are losing.

Even the electric segment is declining, with the electric L1 taking the biggest hit (-3.2%), while the electric L3 is up 3.4% for a total segment down 0.6%.

Market Leaders and Performance

Looking at top manufacturer’s performance, Honda maintained its leading position with a YTD decrease at 8.2%.

Yamaha experienced a slight recovery of 0.8% while in third place BMW is losing 4.1%.

Notably, in fourth and seventh position, Kawasaki and Triumph exhibited substantial growth, with sales surging by 22.4% and 13.4%, respectively.

Others top OEMs performance are mixed, with Peugeot down 4.4%, Piaggio losing deeply (-16.7%),  KTM lost 15.8%.
